Postdoctoral Postions

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the following three postdoctoral fellowship programs.

1. Izaak Walton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships

Description: Izaak Walton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded annually at Dalhousie University to recently graduated scholars of superior academic research ability in any discipline. Awards are tenable for two years and include travel costs, a research grant, and a conference travel allowance.

Eligibility: The date of the applicant's Ph.D. must be January, 2010 or later. For further criteria and information, please see the Killam PDF website.

2. AARMS (Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences) Postdoctoral Fellowships

Description: AARMS postdoctoral fellowships are awarded, on the recommendation of its Scientific Review Panel, to beginning researchers who received their Ph.D. no more than four years before applying. Applications will be considered from those who anticipate receiving their Ph.D. before the proposed start time of the fellowship; however, the Ph.D. must be in hand before actually beginning the fellowship.

3. Postdoctoral Position in Graph Theory

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position in Graph Theory in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Dalhousie University. The position is for the 2012-2013 academic year, with the possibility of extension to 2014. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Jeannette Janssen and will be partially funded by AARMS. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in graph theory applied to complex networks, geometric graphs, or probabilistic graph theory.

Salary: Commensurate with NSERC guidelines (40-45K CAD/year). Duties include teaching one or two one-semester courses per year.

Eligibility: Qualified candidates who will have recently completed a PhD in Mathematics or Computer Science are encouraged to apply.

Deadline: December 10, 2011 although late applications may be considered.
